Better cooling and more than 40% extra resistance to cracking due to thermal stress.

The Brembo patent for PVT discs has led to a different behaviour on the market, using pillars instead of blades in the ventilation chambers. The system improves the cooling capacity and increases the resistance to cracking due to thermal stress by more than 40%. The main innovations are:

Less free space for crack propagation
The more uniform placement of the pillars compared to the blades reduces the area for thermal crack propagation in the brake surface.

Larger surface area for heat exchange.
Compared to blade ventilation, pillar ventilation ensures a larger surface area for heat exchange, which improves heat dissipation.

Stronger air turbulence.
In the ventilation chamber, the presence of the pillars generates stronger air turbulence and therefore a better cooling capacity.
